Huawei just unveiled its first foldable laptop with the launch of the MateBook Fold Ultimate. It is the world’s first 18-inch foldable laptop, which transforms into a compact 13-inch device with a 3:2 aspect ratio. MateBook Fold Ultimate Specs
The MateBook Fold Ultimate boasts an innovative foldable OLED display. When fully unfolded, it offers an expansive 18-inch screen with a 3.3K resolution (3296 x 2472 pixels) and a 4:3 aspect ratio. When folded, it transforms into a compact 13-inch device with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The display boasts up to 1600 nits of peak brightness and a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
The MateBook Fold Ultimate’s construction features a synthetic leather exterior. It measures just 7.3mm in thickness when unfolded and 14.9mm when closed, and weighs approximately 1.16 kg. Huawei has not yet disclosed the processor it’ll use in the laptop. The device is equipped with 32GB of RAM and offers storage options of 1TB or 2TB SSDs. The laptop features a 74.69Wh battery, supported by a 140W USB-C charger.
The MateBook Fold Ultimate will run on Huawei’s proprietary HarmonyOS 5, developed as an alternative to Windows and macOS. The OS currently supports over 150 native and more than 1,000 cross-device apps, with plans to expand to 2,000 by the end of the year.
The laptop features six speakers and four microphones, delivering an immersive audio experience. It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual USB-C ports.
