Samsung has officially moved on to One UI 9, its Android 17-based software update. The Galaxy S26 series was the first to enter the One UI 9 Beta program in May 2026, while Samsung’s latest foldables have now become the first Galaxy devices to receive the official One UI 9 experience.
The rollout will not happen simultaneously for every Galaxy device. Samsung typically releases major One UI updates in stages, prioritizing its newest flagship phones before expanding the update to older flagships, foldables, tablets and mid-range Galaxy devices.
The update introduces Android 17 platform improvements alongside Samsung’s own changes, including refinements to Galaxy AI, accessibility improvements, security enhancements, new customization options and several interface changes.

Which Samsung Devices Have Already Received One UI 9?
The newest Galaxy foldables are the first devices to ship with the official One UI 9 software. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 on July 22, 2026, and these devices launched with One UI 9 based on Android 17.

The Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra are currently the primary One UI 9 Beta devices. Samsung officially opened the beta program for the S26 series in May 2026.
The Galaxy S25 series is also preparing to join the beta program, with Samsung’s beta infrastructure already showing signs of expansion to these devices in August.
